Visco elastic memory foam takes the temperature and weight of the patient and adapts to the shape of the body. It has the capacity to neutralise pressure concentrations in warmer (risk) areas and diffuse points of high interface pressure: Points of heightened pressure are hotter than other points e.g. shoulders, hips and heels. The Designer Mattress eliminates point elasticity (rebound resilience <2%) in any sleep position.

Tissue dies within 2 hours if it is denied oxygen and nutrients, perspiration can accelerate this process. Patients up to high risk can benefit immensely from the pressure relieving properties of the Designer Mattress.
